Our case studies.
The project for Orchard Homes required a full mechanical package including all design work, plumbing, heating, testing and commissioning, and solar PV as well as 24hr aftercare to 50 student flats and 3 commercial units in Southampton. The mechanical services package included the installation of a large PV system (60 panels 15kw) a dry riser, and a fusion weld soil system.
This project was delivered to a very high standard and within the timescales set by Orchard homes.
All of our projects have a designated contract manager who ensures the build is managed using our bespoke quality management system, all of our projects comply with health and safety as well as the relevant industry regulations for Gas Safe, MCS and Building regs.
At the end of the project, we supply a full handover to the project management as well as a bespoke O&M handover manual for each property.
We have a long history working with Orchard homes spanning back to before we started Lush mechanical to my time as a working plumber, we currently have a site in Alresford for Orchard homes and we are also working on designs for 2 more projects. We look forward to continuing this long and successful relationship.
Where we work.
We recently had a new office built for our company headquarters, the building was originally used as a farm barn but had been abandoned for many years, which you can see in the first photo. We decided to keep the barn as traditional as possible and we also made the decision to go off grid.
We made sure the building was insulated and re-built to a very high standard and used modern LED lights throughout. We installed underfloor heating and the end result was that we were one point of achieving an A-rated EPC certificate.
The off grid system consists of 19 PV panels and a specialist designed off grid battery system, which you can see in the photos. We also made use of an original rainwater harvesting system which we believe was built over a 100 years ago. We will use this to keep the grass watered when the ground work is completed.
